Metz grade 2 rooster neck
Metz grade 2 rooster neck.
Metz has changed the lives of many fly tyers by selecting roosters and hens not for their flesh but for the quality of their feathers.
By dint of genetic selection, Metz feathers have become over time simply unbelievable to ty flies because they have what every fly tyer looks for, flexibility, thinness, length etc ...
Metz rooster necks are Certainly more expensive than ordinary necks, but if we report this price to the quality and quantity of hackles, we quickly realize that the price/quality ratio is excellent and at the finish buying a quality Metz rooster neck is not so expensive.
Metz Grade 2 rooster necks are excellent for tying flies on hooks from size 6 to ... 26! Their hackles are designed to mount dry flies: quite long with little down and stiff fibers
The hackles of Metz Grade 2 rooster necks are roughly similar to those of Grade 1, but they are less numerous. Their price/quality ratio is still excellent.
